Greetings one and all. I’m back. “About time too!” Who said that? How rude. Have you missed me? I said, have you missed me? Don’t all shout at once will you. Well, the one I don’t trust finally returned from his travels yesterday, and gave me my computer back. I’ve no idea where he has been. Everything seems to be getting back to normal. In a funny sort of way, I have quite missed him. Life has been pleasant without him, I mean the pretty one has spoilt us rotten, but without the little triumphs I enjoy in my ongoing battle with him, life somehow lacks a challenge.

He seemed quite pleased to see me - I think. Well, he gave me Tabby and Ginger Tail a decent handful of prawns each this morning. The first thing he did when he got back, was to take a look round the garden. Before he went away, he had spent a lot of time planting all manner of things. He even went to great lengths to protect seeds and plants from unwelcome visitors and pests. Now, I’m sure he didn’t mean to include me in… (Read the rest of this article at the following article source link for the full story)

Catherine,

I try not to be a complainer, but I must say that the parrot toys you sent me last week are poorly made.

I put all 3 toys in three separate birds’ cages on Saturday morning as soon as the package arrived.  The 3rd toy

survived the weekend, but the toys in the African Gray’s cage, and the one in my little Cape Parrot’s cage were

pretty well pulled apart by the end of the day on Saturday.

When I took the damaged parts out, and put them on the “spare parts” stack, I recognized that those same toy parts from a previous purchase were in many different pieces, too.  Maybe I did not buy the previous toys from Windy City, I do not know that …

Anyway, it’s just too easy for the birds to pull those toys apart, and the African Gray, especially, does not attack

toys with much vigor but she found these toys to be no challenge …

Richard

Dear Richard

I am sorry the toys were not tough enough for your birds. Perhaps that is why they have been lowered in…

Whether  you own a dog or not, you must   appreciate
the efforts of this owner to sell her dog.

Dog  For Sale
Free  to good home. Excellent guard dog.
Owner cannot afford to feed him anymore, as there are no more  drug pushers, thieves, murderers, or molesters left in the neighborhood for him to eat.   Most  of them knew Jethro only by his Oriental  street name, Ho Lee Schitt.

Hello Mitch,

What little bit I know of parrots involves my quaker. She came to live with us literally out of the blue. Didn’t know a thing about birds, but had to learn if she was going to stay.

Glad to meet you.

Ann

Quakers are great little birds - FYI there are wild colonies here in Chicago

Mitch I know about the wild colonies. Apparently that is why Quakers are illegal in some states. Once they get free they are able to adapt and their colonies have been known to cause damage in places.

I worry when it gets cool in the house, but I know she is probably just fine. If they can survive in Chicago she can surely survive in 50 degrees inside.

Thanks for the link. If I have more bird questions I know who I will come to.

Ann

Hi Ann

Unfortunately that’s not the case - it’s not necessarily that the birds are hardier which is somewhat true but their secret to cold weather survival is colonized nesting.

A solo quaker doesn’t stand…

Bottlebrush is the ideal wood for all Birds and Parrots! Unlike most wood, Bottlebrush Play Gyms have two layers. The outer bark is soft, chewy, and easy and comfortable for birds to stand on.

Your Parrot’s feet were designed to naturally mesh with the bark of trees and allow them to move about effortlessly. Wayne’s Bottlebrush Parrot Play Gyms retain their natural bark which is exactly what Birds crave! Parrots need to chew, and the bark of Bottlebrush Perches is absolutely perfect for that.

Underneath all that lovely soft bark is the hard inner layer. This layer is tough enough to allow your Bird to gnaw on it, but will not damage or injure his beak. All Birds need to be able to gnaw on a tough (but not too hard!) wood in order to keep their beaks conditioned and shaped. Gnawing…

Hi hunb! It’s me and Hamish again. I have him eating the Med. Parrot size Fruit Flvrd Zupreem, Do you think those are to small a bits for him?

I mean they are pretty tiny, it seems, when he hold them when he is eating. Is it just me? Or are these the right size? There is only the Large Parrot size above his. He still wants his weaning pellets (1 softened and heated lol *spoiled lil hamish* lol) before bed, and he gets seed/treats and freshies during the day.

What do you think? Should I go and order the large parrot? Or keep with the Med.?
